My birth certificate is scheduled to arrive today, so I'm stuck at home until the UPS man comes. That's fine, though. I have things that need to be done.

Where does the single shoe on the side of the road come from?
When you're driving along a stretch of road and see just 1 shoe on the shoulder, how did it get there? And where's its mate?
Does someone get to their destination and discover it's gone? Or do they see it go and decide to leave it?
And if they saw it, why didn't they go back to get it?
